It was at this hospital in Lexington Kentucky where she discovered her passion for the diagnosis and management of ocular disease; including but not limited to, glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetes, cataracts and dry eyes.

In Dr. Checkley’s down time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, THREE dogs and her cat. When she’s not spending time at home she enjoys camping, hiking, snowboarding, stand-up paddle boarding and playing ringette. She loves to travel and to find new places to eat, she’s a big foodie. Do you have any food recommendations for her to try? A new campground or hike to check out? Let her know!
